Introduction: Evidence-based nursing is a modern approach to nursing practice in the field of health which has many advantages in its implementation to patients in need of emergency care. Aim: The aim of the present study was the Greek and international bibliographic review of the implementation of evidence-based nursing and its benefits to patients in need of emergency care. Method: The methodology followed included the search and identification of research and review articles on the implementation of evidence-based nursing in patients in need of emergency care and the results thereof. Results: According to the international literature, the implementation of evidence-based nursing has many advantages especially when exercising in patients in need of emergency care, as such cases require specialized skills and critical thinking for proper assessment and optimal management of these. The implementation of evidence-based nursing requires the training of nursing staff through personal review of research, educational interventions and / or evidence-based guidelines. Conclusions: Evidence-based nursing brings positive results to patients' health outcomes and efforts should therefore be made to integrate it into nursing practice.
